Community
For many families, it is our truly special sense of community that was a deciding factor as they considered joining our school. This community spirit is evident throughout all our activities!
"In a nutshell, the sense of respect our children have gained for their world and the confidence that they have developed as individuals at such a young age will undoubtedly help them to make good decisions as they move into adulthood. What more could a parent ask for? We LOVE our school!" MdTL Parent
Community Events
MdTL hosts a variety of community events each school year with the help of our generous parent volunteers. The Back to School BBQ, Halloween Festival and Pancake Breakfast are annual favorites and exemplify MdTL's strong community spirit.
Community Service
From selling copies of their classroom newspaper to child-led bake sales, our Elementary students donate to a variety of causes and organizations, including the Marin Humane Society, the St. Vincent's de Paul Society, and the SF/Marin Food Bank. They also participate in outings to care for our environment, from coastal cleanup to pulling invasive French Broom from the Terra Linda hillsides with guidance from Marin Parks and Open Space.
Our Parent Community
In choosing a school for your child, you are also choosing a community for your family. At MdTL, life-long friendships are made among parents as they become active members of our school community.
"I am convinced that there is not another group of teachers in this county that care more about their students. My children love going to school and are so confident because of this program." MdTL parent
Staff Longevity
Our teachers and staff are known for their dedication, experience, and passion for Montessori education. Many of our teachers have been a part of our community for at least a decade, some several decades over. The longevity of our staff furthers our strong sense of community and provides consistency to our students and their families.
